Welcome to the Health, Physical Education, Cross Country and Athletics Department.
The 2021-2022 academic year I will be teaching High School and Middle School Health along with Elementary Physical Education and Independent PE.

Educational Goals and Objectives
Elementary Physical Education:
Physical Education at the Elementary levels focus on skill development, safe movements, following directions, leadership, sportsmanship and team work.
Students will learn about their health and physical fitness through different movement based activites. Students will learn about following directions, team work and sportsmanship through cooperative games with their peers.
3rd-5th grade students will begin team sports.
5th grade students will be assigned a locker and are expected to change for all classes.
Middle School Physical Education:
Physical Education at the Middle School level focus primarily on lifelong physical fitness and team sports.
Students will learn about their health and physical fitness through different team sports, cooperative games and lifetime activities. Student will learn about team work and sportsmanship through participating in different team sports and working collectively with their peers.
High School Physical Education:
Physical Education is required by New York State. All graduating seniors must have passed two credits of Physical Education over the 4 years in High School to graduate. Students earn 1/2 credit per year in grades 9-12.
Physical Education at the High School level focus primarily on lifelong physical fitness and team sports.
Students will learn to promote a physically active lifestyle as well as develop teamwork and cooperation skills through a combination of competitive games and lifetime activities. Students will be exposed to a variety of activities throughout the year.
Middle School Health:
Students will gain introductory/age appropriate knowledge about their health and the health of others around them. Students will be aware of the resources available to them in and out of their community and learn what they can do if the have questions or concerns about their health.
Guest speakers and vidoes will be used to enhance learning.
High School Health:
Students will learn about many different factors that will affect theirs or others health throughout their lifetimes. Students will know where they can go and how they can get help with health issues that relate to them.
