This year promises to be a very exciting year. As you may know, 7th grade Life Science will explore the many aspects of living organisms and the diversity of life. This class includes the general study of cells, their anatomy and function, the chemicals that control life (DNA and enzymes) and inheritance of characteristics from parents to offsprings (genetics). We will also explore human anatomy and physiology and how scientists use classification systems today. We will be doing a lot of hands on activities, projects and labs throught the year.

We will follow the New York State curriculum standards for this course. Under these standards, some of the topics we will cover include; cells, cell processes, genetics, ecology, evolution, and human body systems.
Important Note * Laboratories are a State Requirment. New York State requires 1200 minutes of laboratory before sitting the Regents exam. This corresponds to approximately 30 lab credits.
