Earth Science
Course Description:
Earth Science provides students with an awareness of the world around them, scientific inquiry, and scientific concepts. We will follow the New York State curriculum standards for this course. Under these standards, some of the topics we will cover include; scientific method, the solar system, rocks and minerals, mapping and topography, and weather.
*Laboratories are a requirement. New York State requires 1200 minutes of laboratory before sitting for the Regents exam. This corresponds to approximately 30 labs.

Living Environment
Course Description:
Living Environment provides students with an awareness of the world around them, scientific inquiry, and scientific concepts. We will follow the New York State curriculum standards for this course. Under these standards, some of the topics we will cover include; cells, genetics, and the human body.

General Physical Science - Course Not Currently Offered*
Course Description:
This course is given as an entry-level high school course to allow students to receive their required physical science credit and to preparre them for Regents-level courses.
Topics:
· Laboratory safety
· The Scientific Method
· Writing a proper laboratory report.
o Constructing a proper hypothesis.
o Proper rounding and calculations
o Graphing by hand and with Microsoft Excel
o Dependent vs. Independent variables
