Welcome to the Elementary School

Hartford Elementary School consists of approximately 160 students in grades Pre-K through grade 5.  We have two sections of each grade level with class sizes ranging from 10 -17 in grades Kindergarten through fifth grade.  Our staff is dedicated to improving student performance and provides students with research-based instruction that promotes student growth.  Students are provided with reading and writing instruction for at least 90 minutes per day and math instruction for at least 60 minutes per day.  In addition, students engage in science, social studies, art, music, technology/keyboarding, and physical education weekly.  Daily schedules also include the opportunity for enrichment, as well as intervention strategies to assist struggling learners.  We are fortunate to have Interactive TV's in every classroom, as well as Chrome Books for every student, to promote inter-active learning through technology.  Our special education students are integrated into regular education classrooms through integrated co-teaching and direct consultant teacher models, as well as being provided with additional support in a small Resource Room setting.  Students benefit greatly from this inclusion setting.

Hartford Elementary School is a great place to be!  In addition to a strong academic focus, we promote student growth through Character Education, monthly assemblies, enrichment programs, field trips, after school activities, and by “filling buckets.”   We recognize as many students as possible each month for their accomplishments and provide an atmosphere conducive to learning.

Parental involvement is highly encouraged and helps students stay motivated and reach their full potential.  The best gift you can give your children is time….the time to be involved in their education.  Together, home and school can provide students with an education rich in experiences, ultimately giving students a solid foundation for future success.
