  • Reading Reading

The class this year will be using a brand new reading program called Ready Gen....I am very excited about it and more information will be coming!  Read, read, read!

This week, another short one, we will be finishing up Module A in Unit 3.  We will be working together to complete some research about Susan B. Anthony or Theodore Roosevelt and writing together.

  • Math

This year the class will be learning from the CCLS aligned program called My Math.

We continue to subtract 2-digit numbers with and without regrouping.

  • Fact Practice

We practice our facts to increase fluency and speed.  Any practice you can do at home would greatly benefit your second grader!  Flash cards can be picked up at most dollar stores!

Students will be working with XtraMath.com, which is a fact practice computer site.  Your child will be completing their work on this twice a week.  A letter will be coming home soon to tell you how you can access it at home.

  • Spelling

Students this year will be working out of the Words Their Way spelling program.  It is individualized to their needs and this week and next, we will be practicing all of the different activities that accompany the program.   New lists will be coming home on Monday, with tests on Friday.  Please take time each night to practice the words and work on the patterns within the words.

On Monday of each week a new list will come home to practice during the week.  We practice the words during the school day, but I rely on your continued practice at home.  It is really important, because there may be a day, when spelling practice in school is not completed.

      No new lists this week...
