About Mrs. Holl...
I always knew I wanted to be an artist. After graduating from Queensbury High School, I attended Wells College in Aurora, NY, spending one semester in Florence, Italy. I hold a B.A. in Studio Art with a minor in Education.
My teaching career began at HCS in 1994. While teaching, I pursued my Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction through SUNY Plattsburgh. I continue to further my learning by attending workshops and conferences both in art and education.
I live in Queensbury with my husband and two children. When I'm not painting, I enjoy cooking, reading, downhilll skiing, hiking, and spending time with my family.

Enthusiasm, Creativity, Expression: Mrs. Holl's Philosophy
The opportunity and ability to explore, reflect and create with the thoughts and feelings from within you and with the influences of your environment is a gift all should have. As an art educator, I am able to inspire in my students this gift, and to have them see and respect this ability in others.
The creativity, spontaneity, and enthusiasm of young art students keeps me striving to bring them more inspiration and information. I love to share my excitement about art and my true love for learning in all disciplines. It is easy to create cross-curricular lessons as art touches every subject. Nothing is better than seeing a young artist create a masterpiece that takes them to another place or time, or to watch them use creativity to solve a problem and later apply that same critical thinking to an academic situation.
Art offers so many students the opportunity to feel successful and confident. Art is very subjective, allowing the learner and observer to create an interpretation based on his or her own experiences and imagination. I believe that every person has some kind or artistic ability. It is my life's love and work to help every student I teach to find their creative talent.
