New Positive Case In The District
April 16, 2021
To All Parents / Guardians:
The district has been notified that an individual in the district had tested positive for COVID-19. The individual who tested positive is now under quarantine and will have to be cleared by the Washington County Department of Health before returning to school. Upon notification, we began assisting the Washington County Department of Health with their contact tracing efforts, and anyone who has been identified as a “contact of a positive” has been notified and offered guidance.
While I understand the anxiety and trepidation that this news may bring, please note that the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other privacy laws restrict us from disclosing or confirming any personally identifiable information and we cannot identify anyone who has tested positive.
Please note that the district is assisting the Washington County Department of Health with contact tracing efforts and that we have been following all the proper protocols including temperature checks, health screenings, social distancing, mask wearing, and hand washing. The district has been thoroughly cleaned and disinfected and we are planning to continue with our hybrid instructional schedule; except for any students who may remain under quarantine.
If you have any questions regarding the quarantining process or regulations, please feel free to contact the Washington County Public Health at (518) 747-7520.
Sincerely,
Andrew Cook
Superintendent
Hartford Central School District
