Message from Superintendent Cook

It is my pleasure to share with our community that Middle/High School Principal Brian George will be leaving the district the end of this school year. The Glens Falls Common School District Board of Education announced its intent to appoint Mr. George as Superintendent of School/Principal at their next Board of Education meeting scheduled for the evening of Thursday, May 16, 2019.

Mr. George has been with the Hartford Central School District for the past 6 ½ years as the Middle/High School Principal. He began his career in education in 2004 as an elementary teacher with the Glens Falls Common School District.

On behalf of the faculty, staff, and members of the Board of Education, I would like to congratulate Mr. George, and wish him the best as he transitions into his new position. Mr. George has tirelessly served our students and the community of Hartford as the Middle /High School Principal, and is more than ready to take on the role of superintendent. This is certainly bittersweet news, as we are excited for Mr. George to take the next step in his educational career, but we are saddened to see him leave.

The Board of Education is committed to seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as the next Middle/High School Principal and will be conducting a search.
