Brief Biography

A graduate of South Glens Falls High School, I attended ACC and graduated with a B.S.E. in Physical Education from SUNY Cortland. I received a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Plattsburgh State University and K-12 Health Education Certification from New York State. I hold SAS and SDA certificates in administration which I pursued through Plattsburgh State University.

I am starting my 18th year in education, 14 of them teaching, and I believe learning never stops. I strongly support professional growth and often attend seminars, conferences, workshops and read educational material in order to provide our students with the best possible education. I truly enjoy the educational field and am pleased to have the opportunity to provide your child/children with a positive school experience.

My husband is a native of Glens Falls and we have two wonderful children, Rachel Beth and Patrick, who keep us very busy!

Message

Dear Community Members, Parents and Guardians,

I hope everyone has had a fun, safe summer! It has been busy around school and I am anxious for the return of students! We have some recent staffing changes created by the retirement of Mrs. Syndy Anoe. I am pleased to announce Mrs. Jennifer Lawrence has moved to second grade and Mrs. Kerry Babson has moved to first grade. We have hired a new elementary special education teacher, Mrs. Kristy Brennan. I believe these changes will be an asset to our students and district. I am confident students will adapt nicely to these last minute changes.

Due to construction, our Annual Kindergarten Orientation was not held prior to school, but will take place on Thursday, September 4th, from 5:00-6:00pm. Our Annual K-12 Open House will be held in October rather than September to allow more of the construction to be completed.

Community Action Angels of Washington County have generously donated several backpacks with school supplies. If you or anyone you know of could benefit from these donations, please contact me at ext. 28.

Please continue to check you child's backpack daily, as many notes/letters will be coming home as the school year begins. As always, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call, send a note or mail me. I look forward to working with you this year.

Sincerely,

Bethellen C. Mannix

Elementary Principal/Special Education Chairperson
